Cabinet pulls feature a linear design that is supported by two posts on either end. This allows you to slide your fingers behind the pull to open the cabinet door or drawer. Knobs, on the other hand, connect the drawer at a single point with a single bolt or screw.
Cabinet knobs feature a single post and can be selected from various designs like round, square, geometrics or any custom-made shade. Knobs provide a sleek aesthetic for cabinet doors and drawers!
Traditionally, pulls are used on drawers and knobs are added on the cabinet drawers. Cabinet pulls need less dexterity or strength than knobs, making them an ideal choice for cabinets.
Pick the Modern Way
In modern cabinet designs, the use of knobs and pulls can be interchangeable. Meaning knobs can be added to the cabinets and pulls can be attached to the sleek drawers.
Something for Small Drawers
Mostly, pulls are preferred for drawers for easy usage. But, if the drawer is small, like in a vanity cabinet or butler’s pantry, then knobs can be used instead of pills. For smaller drawers, you need to place the knob at the center for the perfect placement in both directions.
Something for Wider Drawers
A drawer which is around 24” wide or more can require two knobs or pulls. For the placement, you need to divide the drawer into thirds and add knobs or pulls in the left and the right portions of the drawer. For a sleek look, you can add an extra long pull instead of two small pulls or knobs!
Appliance Pulls on Cabinet Frames
For a concealed dishwasher, refrigerator, or wastebasket; the hardware pulls can be placed at the center face frames of the drawers and cabinet doors.
Hardware Pulls on Cabinet Face Frames
It is not necessary that all hardware on the face frame of the cabinets are appliance pulls only. You can place the pulls on face frames when the cabinet frame is thicker i.e.base cabinetry for easy usage and achieve a sleeker or modern design!
